The Maintenance Storeroom Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked parts storeroom within our chemical manufacturing plant.  This role ensures accurate ordering, labeling, and inventory of parts, as well as receiving parts into our computerized inventory system. The Attendant works closely with the maintenance team to issue and order parts based on plant needs while adhering to Company inventory policies and CMMS standards.
The Attendant should have at least 2 years’ related experience and preferably in a manufacturing environment.  The role requires strong organizational skills, supporting our internal customers and the ability to work independently. 

1 position is available. Schedule: Monday-Friday, first shift start time between 6-7am.  Business necessities may require mandatory overtime, weekend hours, or work hours to be adjusted.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, to include but not all:
  • Updates and monitors the parts inventory database and places orders as needed. Generates progress reports on schedule status, parts usage, and inventory and keeps records of completed orders.
  • Follows, without exception, all work instructions, SOP’s, and safety rules, including use of all proper PPE and other safety equipment.
  • Follows 6S principles, e.g. perform housekeeping as required in storeroom area, including trash/recycling, sweeping floors and any other cleanup that is needed.
  • Responsible for managing/maintaining spare parts inventory. Dispatches material and parts in accordance with production schedules and commitments.
  • Monitors all backorders and communicates with management on availability.
  • Prepares purchase order requests and notifies purchasing agent of order specifications. Prepares emergency and special orders on non-stock items.
  • Maintain some of the maintenance shop's small equipment such as, but not limited to, parts washers, specialty tools, and stock room specific lifting equipment.
  • May on a continuous basis be on the production floor supporting maintenance technicians.
  • As needed, use company truck to drive locally and purchase/pick up materials as needed for maintenance technicians.
Experience & Skills
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum 2 years mechanical background or prior work-related experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings. i.e. P&ID, part prints, as well as assembly drawings and instructions.
  • Must have computer skills for order entry and completion of company online training courses.  Proficient in Microsoft programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated planning, time management and organization skills.
  • Possess proven written and verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Punctuality and excellent attendance are expected and required.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work routinely with minimal supervision. 
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record in order to drive a company vehicle as needed locally.
  • Work overtime as needed based on business demand.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Passing a respirator fitting and pulmonary fit test is required.
