Utility Worker 2nd shift

We are open Monday-Friday. Some overtime is mandatory and work hours may be adjusted for necessary business reasons, e.g. training, order demand.
- 2nd Shift 1:00pm-9:30pm
Utility Workers are responsible for a variety of tasks including general labor across the plant, supporting the production process, and ensuring the smooth operation of the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in various stages of production process, including mixing, blending, pouring, and packaging chemicals and chemical products. Records required information on the batch sheet.
- Reviews drumming sheets. Locates drums, kegs, totes, and pails as needed for orders. Transports items to filling area via forklift.
- Performs quality control checks on raw materials, intermediate products and finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
- Monitors inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, reporting discrepancies, and assisting in inventory counts as needed.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation related to production activities and quality control checks.
- Performs activities to safely clean, secure and maintain equipment and work areas as required. Participate in housekeeping in the facility according to 5S.
- Follows, without exception, all work instructions, SOP’s, and safety rules, including use of all proper PPE and other safety equipment.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- High school diploma or GED required. Candidates with 3 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
- Previous experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Basic math skills required.
- Good problem-solving ability; makes efficient use of time within shift directives.
- Ability to be trained and safely operate a forklift to transport raw materials and finished goods between departments and warehouses. Minimum 1 year experience.
- Works well within a team and able to follow specific directions.
- Punctuality and excellent attendance are expected and required.
- Ability to meet physical demands of a fast-paced work environment.
