Material Handler 1st Shift

- Starting hourly range of $22.00-$23.00, depending on experience

The schedule for this 1st Shift Material Handler position is Monday through Friday from 5:00am-1:30pm. The Material Handler is responsible for loading, storing, and transporting chemicals and raw materials safely and efficiently to meet the needs of the department.
What You Will Do Everyday
- Receive raw goods and pick raw materials for all batch sheets.
- Set up transfers to other departments.
- Put away drums and packaged goods.
- Check incoming material to determine if the quantity and type of products matches documents.
- Assist with cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Communicate with logistics providers to facilitate shipments of orders.
- Operate the forklift on a regular basis.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of shipping documentation.
- Safely handle hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals during repackaging processes.
- Participate in housekeeping (e.g. sweep, mop, dust, put items away in proper areas) in the facility according to 5S.
Experience & Skills
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of material handling experience required, preferably in a chemical manufacturing plant.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to read, write and speak English. Works well within a team and able to follow specific directions.
- Basic Microsoft Office experience and transactional experience with an ERP system.
- Good problem-solving ability; makes efficient use of time within shift directives.
- Be able to demonstrate accurate math calculations.
- Ability to be trained and safely operate a forklift to transport raw materials and finished goods between departments and warehouses. Minimum 1 year experience.
- Punctuality and excellent attendance are expected and required.
